You need to cut back on the solids that you're giving him and instead give him more bottles or more time on the breast. The main thing that he should be getting right now is milk, everything else is just to get him used to eating solids. But breastmilk/formula is the most important, and he should be having WAY more. If you feed him less solids throughout the day and give him more milk chances are he'll sleep better at night. The reason he's waking up is because even though the solids fill him up during the day his body isn't getting enough of the nutrients that it needs from the milk. Try giving him maybe 2 solid meals per day with an occasional snack, and then for all the other feedings give him a bottle/boob. My son is 8 months old and only eats solids maybe once or twice a day. Every other feeding he gets a 7oz bottle of Similac Isomil.

Alright well i think its about time to switch it up a little bit
Your baby does not need this much cereal, he needs more Vegetables! My daughter just turned 8 months old and she gets cereal once a day in the morning, thats it. Lunch time (about 12 - 12:30) give him veggies and fruit. Then dinner (4 - 4:30) give him veggies and fruit again. If he gets hungry in between 12:30 and 4:30 give him breast milk or formula. Then at night before going to bed, give him more breast milk or formula.
At this age he should be eating 3 times a day. Breakfast lunch and dinner. In between is milk (formula).
Once you get him on a plan like this he should not be waking up as much to eat because the fruit and veggies will keep his belly full for longer periods of time. You can also start to introduce meats to him now for the iron.
Good luck

it seems to me that you're giving him too much solids, and also too often…
at 7 months, they don't really need to eat every 2 hours! that's why he's only taking a little milk at 5:30-6 meal…. let him feel hungry before feeding him, that way he'll develope a healthier attitude towards eating…..
ok, here's what i would do, at 11:30-12 noon, give him barley or rice cereals (or you could even give him some pureed vegetables), then top him off with milk… (either breast or formula) till he's full…..
at 3:30, give him some pureed fruit, a biscuit and milk, then at about 7-7:30 give him cereals, no too much though and milk….
at about 10:30 breastfeed him and TRY to put him to bed after this meal….
and when he wakes up at night, have you tried giving him water? sometimes babies wake up because they are thirsty, you can offer him water, if he refuses, then you can give him milk…
it seems to me that right now he's used to eating little but often, try to wait till he's really hungry, then he'll eat more and be full for longer, whatever changes you make, make them gradually…..
good luck

I don't think there is anything really wrong with what you are feeding him, it's just the order and how much. A nutritionist friend I have recommends this for a 7 month old baby:
Morning: Breastfeed or 7-8 oz formula w/ cereal
Afternoon: veggies, fruit, and breastfeed or 7-8 oz formula
Mid-Afternoon: 1-2 oz fruit juice and toast or baby cookies
Evening: veggies, fruit, and breastfeed or 7-8 oz formula w/cereal
Bedtime: breastfeed or 7-8 oz formula
The veggies and fruits can be Gerber goods, about 3-4 tablespoons of each. I don't think you have to just stick to that, but use it as a guideline for your child. He will tell you when he is full or wants more.
With his sleeping, try to do some things before he goes to bed to help him wind down and let him know it's bedtime. My son is 3 months, and we give him a nice, warm bath, rub him down with baby oil, then feed him in his bedroom with low lights and gentle rocking. He sleeps 5 hours before he wakes for his next feeding. Just do something soothing to your baby to help him relax and fall asleep earlier and make a routine out of it.
