Is it safe to say that weight loss occurs when you drink a lot of water?

I began drinking water 3 months ago to lose weight and become healthier. I drank 120 ounces plus some at times a day. I no longer drink soda but do consume a cup of coffee each morning and a tomato juice mid morning. I usually eat light for breakfast, then mild at lunch time, a snack between lunch and dinner and a regular dinner…but with lots of water. In the 3 months I have lost 20 pounds and feel alot better. I still have more weight to lose but just focused mainly on being healthier. Any suggestions?

While some weight loss will occur as you drink water, what is definite is that there won't be weight GAIN, mostly b/c you are not consuming beverages full of sugar that will convert into fat if it isn't burned up. Be careful of your salt consumption, b/c it will hold onto the water. If you can bring that down, or cut it out, that also will help. In addition, if you can add some form of exercise into your life, you'll really burn up calories, get toned (then you'll LOOK shapelier), and lose more weight. The easiest, most accessible exercise is walking. Keep up the great job! Good luck!

water aids in weight loss by flushing out impurities. watch your coffee intake - drink more tea; is is a natural diuretic.

Weight loss is a combination of things, water consumption being one. If you switched to drinking water compared to sweetened beverages, weight loss is a normal side effect of the reduced calorie intake. It does flush your system more effectively. It should show in your skin, too. You should have a smoother, nicer complexion. It sounds as though you also changed your eating habits and they are healthier, so weight loss would be your benefit. Good luck and good health!

Keep drinking that water to lubricate your internal organs and keep them working properly. In between meals or if you happen to be hungry late at night,I would make myself a smoothie shake to kill the hunger.
      1 cup of protein powder
      I glass of 2% milk
      1 sliced banana
Mix them all together in a blender. The shake will expand in your stomach giving you that full feeling and at the same time you didn't really eat anything.
But like I said,it's a good in between meal snack and also keep drinking that water.
