It depends on your height too.
In most schools, if you want to be a flyer (meaning the girls who get tossed or lifted) you have to be 105 or less.
Some schools say 98.
If you're bigger than that you'll either be a bottom girl or spotter.
But for health at least 140.

Weight has nothing to do with cheerleading. Unless you want to be a flyer, but being a base or a back spot is just as important.
I am about 150pounds or a bit less… im not quite sure and I am a cheerleader.
And not to sound bad or anything but I find cheerleaders who are built stronger then those stick figure ones are generally better.
They usually have much more muscle. So, that means they are able to tumble better, jump higher and show just as much as the littler ones.
Dont get me wrong though, some of the super skinny girls are AMAZING… but that doesnt mean you cant be too!!

Eat an average of 800 calories a day and exercise around 3-5 in the afternoon for 1.5 hours. The afternoon is a better time because you should eat more throughout the day than at night so therefore you can burn off most of which you intake. Run for three miles per day, this usually takes about 25mins. After this choose any type of cardio work for the remainder of your workout, also-in the last 20 mins or so do weights as this burns off extra fat. This worked really well for me and i hope this helps you, good luck. Try this out for 30 days, you will be suprised.
Note: be sensible, although people might disagree and say that 800 calories isn’t alot, if you pick the right foods like vegies, calories are very low and you can eat quite alot without gaining weight.
