Hello ‘5′7 180 and ive been hitting the gym and lifting weights for around 5 months now i used to weight 195.. lost 15 pounds in 3 months my body is o.k.. i’m not really classified as "fat" i have ok arms.. a little definition my chest is ugly.. and my mid section is getting better.. but i was wondering should i just stop doing a lot of cardio because i recently started running 3 miles a day.. and my friends keep telling me.. that if i run a lot ill loose muscle and fat.. and that’s bad? should i hit the gym hard and then bulk down later? or should i contuine.. to run alot everyday and lift weights, btw my goal is to get down to 170 and be ripped… help please?

(From personal experience) I actually suggest an interval training regiment – running, jump roping and squats / crunches/ push-ups are the best. You want to aim for the maximum target heart rate during the high intensity period (for like 1-3 minutes. Then have a down time of 1 minute and repeat the cycle again. You will see definite results right away. I also highly recommend you get the timer called Gymboss, which helps you pace and specializes in this kind of training. http://www.amazon.com/Gymboss-GB2008-GB2010-SILVER/dp/B00194PWNQ
Make sure you drink plenty of water. Eat lean proteain and fiber after every workout. Stretching will keep you lean and protect you from injury.
Good luck.
