To me, seems fine but weird for someone so young to drink those icky things. Mutated? That sounds… weird and untrue but I dunno

Your friend is talking rubbish
Whey protein shakes are just a way to increase your daily protein intake and nothing more.
Dont use them to replace whole foods (like chicken, fish and eggs)
but they will certainly help ensuring you get your 1-1.5g of protein per pound of body weight

Whey protien might be good in addition to other foods. It would be a very sad, sad mistake if you decide to take steroids or other steroid precursers, and other over the counter pills, liquids etc…marketed for bodybuilding. Consider first that taking those kinds of things can amp up your brain and muscle leading you to over train and then in a few years you can find your tendons and ligaments ruined by overpowering before they are really ready…or fully grown. Second, scarier is to consider that alot of that stuff is made in China and could be industrial waste, since they have a proven track record of selling anything as long as some dummy comes along to pay. Third, consider that even if that stuff is made in the US, you really don’t know what you are getting unless you take it to a lab yourself. Tempting ads and guarentees of quality are really meaningless and studies have shown that alot of the vitamins and other supplements do contain harmful substances. As far as your body getting mutated…that is a mixed thing. Bodybuilding aims to mutate your natural body into a larger, stronger body, and that has good and bad points about it. Good is that exercising is smart and increases your chances for survival overall. Bad is that poor training technique, overtraining, impatience can all lead to muscle, joint, ligament damage, mental burn out that can strike later in life when exercising is even more important. So to end, I would add whey protien if I could be sure it is what it is supposed to be…or it could cost alot less and be safer to start getting into eggwhites, nonfat milk, chicken…eating clean. Whey protien can be hard to digest…that can lead to sluggish workouts and eventually to poor looking skin.
