Egg cells are haploids.. when a sperm egg and a female egg come together you get a diploid. which is 46 chromosomes… (44autosomes and 2 sex chromosomes)
and its all through a posses called Meiosis… well and mitosis.
A.23 because a sperm cell also has 23 chromosomes so together they combine and have 46. Therefore making a normal human being! The forming of a sperm is spermogenisis and the forming of an egg cell is oogenisis.
