I lost a lot of weight very quick and feel I lost a lot of muscle too. I am now eating high protein and low carbs - will the muscle return?

      Only if you also exercise.

no, protien will only replace muscle if u work-out and exercise for it. Bcoz exercise rips the tissue and protien fills it, hence muscle appears.
So unless ur going to work out, dont overdo protien.

Protein helps in building muscle tissue. More muscles burn more fat and increases your metabolism. Increase your protein intake . It increases lean muscle mass which helps in long term weight loss .

No, you will not. You have to understand that protein is the building blocks of muscle, so if you dont work the muscles your muscles cant rebuild themselves. In order to rebuild your muscles, you will have to start a weight lifting workout and if you do it intensely on a regular basis (3 times a week) you will force your muscles to grow fast.
