I was just wondering how the different weight of people might affect their pulse rate (or heart beat rate) after doing exercise.

Well it depends on what type of weight. Muscle is vascular and has a less resistant blood flow route. This means that the heart rate recovery will be faster and more efficient because the oxygen debt is easier to repay. A thin person with a lower body composition (more muscle and less fat) will have a faster recovery time because they have less to oxygenate and a faster recovery time. This however does not mean a muscular thin person is in better shape than a thicker muscular person. And as you may have guessed a with a high body composition (more fat and less muscle) has a inefficent, high resistance to blood flow in terms of oxygenation of vascular tissues so they have a longer recovery time. And the heavier they are the longer the recovery time is. So a 5"5' person weighing 150 lbs and a body composition of 10% gets thier heart rate up to 170 and then stops thier activity. They may be at 110 a minute later while a 5"5' person weighing 180 with a body composition of 10% may be at 125 a minute after acivity ceases. A person 5"5' weighing 150lbs with a body composition of 25% may be at 135 a minute after ceasation of activity.

Size alone can skew a prediction on recovery time if a person is bigger they may have a faster recovery time if they have a lower body composition because they would have a more eficient curculitory system. Now this can be further complicated because a person with a high body composition can also develop an efficient curculatory system if they routinly do high intensity cardio.

I have seen individuals befor that appear do be in poor health. They are obease but they have a fit cardiovascular system. They do not get out of breath during the work out and have a fast recoverytime for the heart rate.

So size alone can not predict heart rate recovery because The fitness of the cardiovascular system is a seperate factor. However 99 times out of a hundred size you willbe able to predict someones respiratory strength based on thier appearence, thier size and body composition apperence.
