Over the last few weeks I have been rather depressed due to personal stuff at home and exams at school etc. When I get home I usually get depressed and do nothing, however after I have took the dog a walk round my local park I feel slightly happier afterwards… This may just be me but is there some sort of scientific fact that exercise really does make you happier?

It releases endorphins which create a happier mood, while burning off excess epinephrine and norepinephrine from stress. In short yes.

Exercise does make you happy, it releases hormones that act as a pain relief
Exercise it great for you mentally, it calms you down, makes you feel healthier and relives stress. It is sometimes hard to get back from a tough day and then get up and work out but you’ll feel so much better for it.
