I’ve been told that it is very bad to have elbow pain when you are working out. I go to the gym 5 days a week, my strategy is generally to lift heavy but with fewer reps. My elbow is very sore, any idea why that would be?

You need to have down time too
Sounds like you are over straining the joints and connective tissue.
Have a week off & then return to training if it continues seek professional help

5 days a week isnt healthy, you should be doing less
