Diet is the best way, actually.

Pills don’t work. You end up losing more muscle than fat.

I didn’t take pills and I have lost 111 lbs in one year, all it is simple math, you have to burn more than what you are taking in. I drop my calorie intake to 1200 a day and I started walking 2 miles day. then I got up to 4 miles, if you have Ipod then use it and jam out while you are working out, Jump jacks, lunges, run bleachers, go running, just get up and get your cardio going. I also cut out all cokes and instead of ice cream it is sherbet.

No offence, but how can one have money for diet pills but not for the gym?

Walking, running, jumping jacks, stair climbing, pushups, plyometrics, yoga, calinesthetics, pilates, dancing, situps… all can be done for free and without the use of equipment, save for some shoes maybe. If the weather’s nice, swimming is also free as is biking if you have a bike.

If you’re wily, you can purchase used dumbells or handweights quite cheaply from people on sites like Kijiji. I saw some today someone was selling for less than 0.10/ lb

A healthy diet costs much less than fast food. Consider going to farmers markets, buying frozen veggies, etc.

The best way to lose weight is to eat a balanced diet and move your body - both which are rather cost effective to do.

gym isnt really necessary. you can always exercise at home, buy some dance workout dvd’s. there are many exercises that don’t need a machine. gym is all about exercise machines. why go to the gym and waste money if you can exercise at home unless you want to be a body builder.

Cardio exercise definitely helps, but mostly it’s what you EAT. It’s good to eat lots of fiber.
Here’s my diet - I eat diet cookies (yummy chocolate chip) that are packed with fiber, so it makes you go to the bathroom at least 2 times per day, so it cleans out your body. And also I replace 1 meal per day (lunch or supper) with a diet shake and a diet cookie.
