Firstly ,i must say i have no problem what so ever with the US training and testing on our soil.
My question is, during your exercises in Australia do you know if any live DU rounds were used?
Arnold: Does that operation involve the use of DU ammunition?

Yes, every year the US has Operation Tailsmen Saber in the land down under.

I was on Operation Kangaroo One in the early 1970s. We didn’t use any DU rounds with our Marine force.

I did T. Saber in 07. And no. There were no DU rounds fired when I was there.
As for the other ammunition. We were given no live ammunition for the training with small arms. It was force on force with blank ammunition mostly. Although I wanted some rounds for them slat water crocodiles.
But I have to say Australia is one of the most beautiful countries I have been to. The people there are very nice. Great night life. Diving in the Great Barrier Reef. My only complaint is the price of smokes, but the pictures on the pack give ya something to laugh at.
I am going to go back on vacation and back pack around some time.
