my friend started taking them. I dont want her to. but i havent managed to get her to stop yet.
I just want to know if they are safe. are there any health risks. and do they even work? I want honesty. yes, i want her to stop, but if they really are safe, then I wont push her to

Akavar, just like all the Acaï berry spam on this site, is a HUGE FRAUD.
Its probably safe because it does nothing at all. There is absolutely NO SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE that Akavar or Acai will help you lose any substantial amount of weight whatsoever. People who say differently are either misinformed or are trying to sell you some.
All your friend is losing is her money

Diet pills in general are not very safe. They tend to lower your body fat much more than is safe, and so your body is not stable.
I’m not so sure about Akavar, but that’s the general idea.
It does help you lose weight though.
But if you can, urge your friend to lose weight naturally - eating right/less and exercising.
